California/Toskana Suppor: Gray water indicatior

Modified on Thu, 22 Feb at 10:54 AM

If your gray water indicator is no longer displaying the correct fill level, there are two possibilities to fix this:

It usually helps to take a look behind the cover that you can find in the driver's compartment below the glove compartment. You have to take a good look and go deep to see what's underneath - your mobile phone front camera can be of assistance here. You can use it to see the plug on your phone screen. There are several connectors on the very outside (towards the passenger side), the outermost one is blue. At the bottom of the blue connector frame you can push in a small click lever. Wait a minute and plug it back in. This resets the control unit, which is also responsible for the grey water sensor. Often this procedure helps to turn the full function of the grey water sensor back on.

Here is the step-by-step instruction:

Locate the blue plug on the right side in the direction of travel (Image 1 & 2).

Operate the small safety lever and pull out the plug (Image 3).

Leave it unplugged for 1 minute.

Plug the connector back in.

The second possibility is to get under the vehicle from the outside, at the level of the grey water tank. There is a black roundish plug connection on the water tank. Loosen this connection and, ideally, protect it from water with some tape. Now the water level sensor will no longer work, but you can use the fresh water again.
