Foreign vehicles must display an environmental sticker called "Crit'Air Vignette" when driving in France. If you plan to travel through France during your trip, there are a few things you should know:
In France, there are two types of environmental zones:
"ZPA" (zones à protection de l'air) are temporary zones where driving restrictions in city centers or urban areas can be imposed during periods of high air pollution.
"ZCR" (zones à circulation restreinte) are permanent environmental zones with traffic restrictions. To drive in these zones, your vehicle needs to have a 'Crit'Air' sticker. Stickers are mandatory (since April 2019) in Paris, Grenoble (including highways), Lille, Lyon (except A6, A7, A42), Annecy, and Strasbourg.
When traveling to France, it is your responsibility to obtain the sticker. You can easily do this online. Unfortunately, due to logistical reasons, we cannot provide the registration number for this purpose before the start of your trip. This is not reliably possible due to the size and dynamics of our fleet.
After picking up your camper, you can apply for the necessary sticker for your motorhome on the official website of the French Ministry of Environment for a processing fee of 4.76 euros. The confirmation of your order on your mobile phone is sufficient in case of any checks. This approach has proven to be effective in practice. A few hours after the registration, you should receive a confirmation of your order to the email address you used for the registration. Keep this as an official proof of your registration.
If you have further questions, you can find all the information at https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/.
