California Support: Water is decreasing without any usage and is leaking under the camper

Modified on Tue, 12 Nov at 4:10 PM

If water is leaking from underneath your camper, it could have various causes:

  • Is the fresh water tank open or closed?
    • If the fresh water tank is open, water will flow out from the bottom when filling it up.
    • To close the tank, go inside the vehicle to the bed area and lift the left side of the mattress. Underneath, you'll find a hatch. Under this hatch is the fresh water tank.
    • There you'll find a gray knob. On the top side, it shows 0 liters, and on the bottom side, it shows 100 liters. Please turn the knob all the way to the right towards 100 liters to completely close the water tank.

If water is still leaking, check where exactly it is coming from:

  • Is the water leaking approximately in the middle under the vehicle?
    • Then it's usually due to the frost protection guard being triggered when temperatures drop too low. This is a safety measure to prevent the vehicle's pipes from freezing.
    • You'll find the frost protection guard behind the hatch under the rear seat.
    • To reset the frost protection guard, simply turn the blue knob 90 degrees until it clicks into place and press the blue button at the bottom. This will close the pipes again, and you can use the water system normally.
    • Behind the frost protection guard, you'll also find a blue valve. Please check if this valve is closed.
    • It is also possible that the valve is screwed on slightly askew. To solve this, remove the valve completely and screw it on again.
  • Is the water leaking in the rear of the vehicle?
    • Check if the two valves in the trunk are closed. You'll find these valves in the trunk behind the hatch on the left side, where you also find the main power switch.
    • There is another hatch on the floor under the trunk. When you open it, you'll find two valves underneath. Both of these valves must be turned to the right.
