California/Toskana Support: Water pump keeps running continiously

Unfortunately, sometimes in the Grand California, the water pump may run continuously, indicated by a faint humming sound. If this happens, follow these steps:

• Check if all faucets are closed (kitchen faucet, bathroom faucet, and the exterior shower in the trunk).
• If all faucets are closed, it's possible that a water droplet has reached the microsensor of the kitchen faucet.
  • Wait for some time until the water droplet has dried up; then the water pump should function normally again. To expedite this process, you can gently blow a hairdryer on the kitchen faucet to accelerate water evaporation.
• To prevent the water pump from running continuously and potentially causing damage, please pull the fuse of the water pump in the rear trunk.
  • You can find the vehicle's fuse box behind the left panel in the trunk.
  • To pull the water pump fuse, remove the second fuse from the left, the five-amp fuse*.
  • If you wish to use the water system again, simply reinsert the fuse. Alternatively, you can also disconnect and reconnect the plug connection under the mattress behind the kitchen counter when needed.

Even if you could tolerate the humming sound, we still recommend pulling the fuse or disconnecting the plug connection. Continuous running of the pump can cause significant damage, potentially requiring costly repairs.

*Attention:

To avoid damage to the vehicle's electrical system, always turn off the ignition, lights, and all electrical consumers, and remove the vehicle key from the ignition before changing a fuse.

If a fuse is replaced with a higher-rated fuse, damage may also occur elsewhere in the electrical system.

Opened fuse boxes must be protected from dirt and moisture. Dirt and moisture in the fuse boxes can cause damage to the electrical system.
