This is how you can check relatively quickly whether the water pump in the camper is defective or whether it is only an operating or supply issue:
First, please make sure that there is enough water in the fresh water tank. If the tank is empty or almost empty, the pump may run dry or may not be able to pump any water.
Also check whether the main power in the camper is switched on. Without the 12V power supply, the water pump will not work.
Then open the tap and listen carefully:
If the pump does not make any noise at all, it is likely that the pump is not receiving power or that the pump itself is defective. A fuse, a faulty switch in the tap, or an issue with the 12V power supply may also be the cause.
If the pump is running but no water comes out, the pump is probably not completely defective. Common causes are air in the system, too little water in the tank, a blocked hose, a closed drain or frost protection valve, or a loose connection.
If the pump keeps running continuously, there may be air in the system, a tap may not be fully closed, or there may be a leak in the water system.
Please also test whether water comes out of other taps or the shower. If there is no water at only one point, the issue is more likely related to the tap or the pipe. If there is no water anywhere, the problem is more likely related to the pump, the power supply, or the tank.
Please also check the fuse for the water pump or the 12V consumers. If other 12V functions, such as lights or USB sockets, are also not working, the issue is more likely related to the power supply.
If there is air in the system, it may help to leave the tap open briefly. However, the pump should not run dry for too long, as this can damage it.
As a general rule: if there is enough water in the tank, the main power is switched on, other 12V consumers are working, and the pump still makes no noise when the tap is opened, a defective pump or an electrical issue is very likely.
